How to Run Ad Verification with Mobile Proxies (Geo Check) in 2026

Your campaign is live, the dashboard reports impressions, and you still have no real idea what your audience is actually seeing. That gap, between what your ad account claims and what got served, is the whole reason ad verification exists. Your account tells you what you bought. It does not tell you what landed in front of a real person.

I run a hardware proxy farm in Singapore. Real phones, real SIM cards from Singtel, M1, and StarHub. So I look at ads from a genuine mobile connection every day, and the distance between the report and the reality is wider than most advertisers want to believe. Here is how I actually run ad verification, and why the connection you check from decides whether you see the truth.

what ad verification actually is

Ad verification is confirming, with your own eyes, that your ads do what you paid for. That means five things. The ad actually shows. It shows in the right geo. It shows on the placements you agreed to. The landing page is the one you approved. And nobody swapped your creative or your destination for something else along the way.

None of that is visible from inside the ad account. The supply chain between you and the user is long, and every hop in it is a place where your spend can quietly drift somewhere you did not intend. Verification is how you put your hands on the part of that chain you can see for yourself.

why a real carrier ip is the whole game

Here is the part most people get wrong. A lot of ad networks, and almost every cloaking system, treat a datacenter ip completely differently from a real mobile one. They read the asn behind your connection, and a hosting provider asn looks nothing like a mobile carrier asn. They can tell, and they act on it.

Think about it from the fraudster’s side. The people running cloaking know that verification teams and brand safety tools mostly check from datacenter ips. So they build systems that recognise those ips and serve them a clean, compliant, boring page. The bad version only shows to traffic that looks real.

That means if you verify from a datacenter ip, you are inspecting the exact version they prepared for you. You will see a tidy landing page, an approved creative, everything in order, and you will sign off on a campaign that is showing something else entirely to real humans. To see what real users see, you have to look like a real user.

the four checks, run from a real ip

Once you are coming from a genuine mobile ip, you can layer the actual checks on top.

Placement. Confirm your ad is appearing on the sites, apps, and slots you agreed to, and not getting dumped onto a junk network of made for advertising pages that exist only to soak up budget.

Geo targeting accuracy. Verify from inside each market you buy. A Singapore ip for the Singapore campaign. A carrier ip in another country for that country’s campaign. A geo setting in a dashboard is an instruction, not a guarantee. The only way to confirm the instruction held is to stand in that geo yourself and look.

Landing page. Click through exactly the way a customer would and confirm the page that loads is the one you approved. Same offer, same price, same legal copy, same destination url. Redirect and affiliate chains are where approved offers quietly turn into something you never signed off on, because each redirect is another chance to point your click somewhere you have never seen.

Mobile only creatives. This is the check desktop tools miss completely. Plenty of campaigns serve one ad to desktop and a different one to a phone, and the phone version is often where most of the budget actually goes. Verify from a real mobile ip and you get the mobile creative and the mobile landing page, instead of a desktop stand in for an experience you never actually inspected.

catching cloaking

Cloaking sits underneath all of this. It is when a system serves one page to suspected bots and datacenter ips, the clean compliant one, and a different page to traffic it believes is real. Scam offers, banned products, and dodgy redirects all hide behind this exact trick.

You catch it by comparing. Look at the same ad and the same landing page from a datacenter ip and from a real mobile ip, side by side. If the two views match, fine. If the mobile view shows an offer or a page the datacenter view never did, you have caught the cloak in the act, and you have the evidence to pull the campaign.

The comparison works because the cloaker has to choose. Show it a hosting asn and it hides. Show it a real carrier ip with a sticky session that behaves like a person, and it has no safe way to keep the curtain up. You become the traffic it was trying to fool.

the pattern, in one line

Verify from the same kind of connection your real audience uses, and verify from inside the geo you are buying. A Singapore ip for Singapore. Repeat per market with a carrier ip from that country. That is the entire discipline.

where the setup helps

This is exactly what I built the farm to do. Real Singapore mobile ips on actual Singtel, M1, and StarHub sims, sticky sessions so your ip holds steady through a full check, and dns that routes through the tunnel so your lookups do not give you away. You get to look like the audience you are trying to protect, which is the only position from which cloaking and geo leaks become visible.
